Neurofeedback may help support self-regulation challenges that are common in level 1 autism — including difficulty managing emotional responses, sensory overwhelm, transitions, and returning to a calm state after becoming dysregulated. Brain training works at the neurological level, training regulatory circuits to function more efficiently. It is not a treatment for autism and does not change autistic neurology. It is a support tool that may increase the brain’s regulatory capacity, which many families find makes other supports more effective. Results vary by individual.
